They've crafted a pretty clever movie that provides clear motivations for the characters, some great action sequences, and a perfect launching pad for future films. While it borrows a lot of ideas from past films in the series, including Charleton Heston's famous line about "stinking paws", Rise of the Planet of the Apes is essentially an original film written by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. It's here that Caesar has time to think about plotting revenge against an uncaring world of humans. But after one too many incidents, Caesar is taken away to a facility where he encounters his own kind for the first time and some brutal human treatment. Caesar also becomes a part of Will's family, despite his nasty temper. Over the years, little Caesar develops an advanced intelligence, thanks to the test serum his mother was taking.

When a trial goes horribly wrong, and the chimps are to be put down, Will smuggles away a baby. Will and his team are conducting tests on chimpanzees. His quest is personal, with his father (John Lithgow) suffering from the condition. Set in the present day, the story focuses on Will Rodman (played by James Franco) a scientist who's trying to find a cure for Alzheimer's.
And now the apes have returned in a brand new reboot called Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Tim Burton tried to relaunch the series in 2001 with an atrocious remake. There were five films and two television series featuring some extraordinary make-up. Back when blockbuster film franchises were a rare thing, audiences flocked to Arthur P Jacobs' saga of simians taking over planet Earth.
